The Neighborhood Playhouse Journal provides a window into my daily studies with Sanford Meisner and the pioneering faculty at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater between 1976 - 1978, and as well, to my subsequent year of private study with Mr. Meisner, at the Neighborhood Playhouse.  In addition, the journal includes notes from my later participation in The Sanford Meisner Maters Class Sessions, a definitive visual record of Mr. Meisner at work. 

The NP Journal captures one of the most fertile times in the development of what has come to be known as "The Meisner Technique." It was a time when Mr. Meisner lead and supervised his first generation teachers and students who would become the leading proponents of Mr. Meisner's systematic approach to teaching the craft of acting, acting, directing, and producing.
